Und das sind die Instructors:
Tess Turk is originally from Elko, Nevada but moved to Dillon, Montana in 2013 to pursue degrees in Business Administration and Natural Horsemanship at the University of Montana Western. She has also earned a degree in Natural Horsemanship instruction and loves to help others grow and succeed. She has been very active in school clubs and activities in the past five years and has been on the universities' student senate. In college rodeo, she has held offices such as the Big Sky Region Student Director, UMW Rodeo Team President, and a rodeo team captain.
Over the past several years, her horsemanship classes have helped her excel in rodeo, where she has qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo each year in the roping and goat tying events. Tess also had the opportunity to intern with world renown reined-cowhorse trainer, Nick Dowers. She will be working for him full time in the upcoming years and hopes to fine tune her horsemanship skills. Although Tess's passion is rodeo, she is eager to learn new horsemanship techniques and start colts to challenge herself and her own personal horses.
Lorrie Ann Smith
Lorrie Ann Smith is from Laie, Hawaii. She grew up on her family's Gunstock Ranch, where she lived and worked the Paniolo (Cowboy) lifestyle. She grew up doing 4H and has been successful in many rodeo organizations, regularly competing at the national level, including the 2017 College National Finals Rodeo. She served as the 2015 National High School Rodeo Association Student Secretary. When she's not horseback, you can find her ocean free diving, snowboarding, or hiking. Lorrie Ann attends the University Montana Western where she is majoring in Natural Horsemanship with a instruction minor and Business Administration. She plans to start a horsemanship program at a university level, and to remain involved in professional rodeo.
ERIC HOFFMANN, M.S.
Eric Hoffmann is the head instructor at La Cense Montana. He has taught the natural horsemanship classes at Montana Western since 2008. In the classes Hoffmann teaches you can learn the importance of getting your horses to work more willingly in order to accomplish a task or job. As a student of Hoffmann's you will gain the confidence and knowledge that will give you readiness for a future career in the equine industry. Hoffmann holds an A.A.S. in Equine Management and Training from Laramie County Community College. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education from the University of Wyoming and also received a Master’s degree in Agriculture Education from Montana State University.
